Quality Council of India (QCI)
Quality Council of India (QCI) was set up as a society registered under Societies Registration Act XXI of 1860 to establish an accreditation structure in the country. QCI is governed by a Council comprising of 38 members and has an equal representation of Government, Industry and other Stakeholders. The Council is the apex level body responsible for formulating the strategy, general policy, constitution and monitoring of various components of QCI including the accreditation boards with objective to ensure transparent and credible accreditation system.
Standard development activity:
QCI has developed the standards mainly for accreditation in two areas:
- Hospitals and other health care service organizations
- NABH Standards for hospitals
- NABH Certification Standards for Emergency Department in Hospitals
- NABH Standards for Hospitals
- Accreditation Standards for Small Health Care Organisations
- Accreditation Standards for AYUSH Hospitals
- Standards for Accreditation CLINICS-Practicing Modern
- Standards for NABH Accreditation for Medical Imaging Services
- NABH Standards for Dental Health Care Service Providers (DHSP)
- Accreditation Standards for Wellness Centres
- NABH Standard for medical laboratory certification,
- NABH Standards for Blood Bank
- Accreditation Standard for Business Membership Organisations
